Nina Kojima in interview with “VAL 202” the most listen to Radio Station in Slovenia

Nina Kojima attended “Festival Slovenskega Filma”, National Festival of Slovenian Films on 13th of October, where her feature documentary film Brexit Trough the Non-political Glass was screened for the festival audience. Nina was interviewed by her former colleague Nina Zagoricnik, who was a mentor to Nina at the beginning of her radio career back in 1996. Interview was recorded in Slovenian Language.

STUDENT STREET

Nina Kojima was a founder and editor in chief of the first ever student TV show on Slovene Television. In 2000 Nina was approached by the Student Organisation of Slovenija (ŠOU) with an idea to create the first ever TV show aimed at the student population. Nina created a series of contents comprising of student current affairs and entertainment for this didactical TV platform, pitched the concept, formulated the budget and produced the pilot of the show to the director and the board of trustees of the National Radio Television Slovenia (RTVSLO), the main state broadcaster. The first weekly edition of the Student Street was broadcasted in 2002. The host of the show at the time was Rebeka Dremelj, the former Miss Slovenia, who was herself a student at that time. Nina approached Rebeka trough their mutual friend Marlena (Tomaz Mihelič ), the main vocal of the Slovene entry performed by Sestre at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Talinn, Estonia, where Nina was a commentator for Slovenia. Student street became an established weekly show on TV Slovenia for many years.

On 16th of June 2002 the most listen to radio channel VAL 202 celebrated 30’s Birthday. Nina was together with her friend and colleague Meta Česnik live broadcasting into the most popular TV Show in Slovenia called Mario (Live Tv Show; 16.06.2002) hosted by Slovenian celebrity Mario Galunič from the concert of Siddharta in Križanke Ljubljana, the main event which marked the anniversary of the channel. Nina appears several times in this show. You can see on the link;
at 4.15min with Slovenian Rock Singer Tomaž Domicelj, at 14.15 min with late climber Tomaž Humar whose deadly accident shook Nina, 61 min with CEO of RTV Slovenija Alex Štakulj and 136 min.

 

Additionally Nina wrote lyrics for the song to mark the 30’s anniversary of VAL 202. Composer was Nina’s close friend Patrik Greblo, song was sung by several Slovenian celebrity singers:
