STUDENT STREET

Nina Kojima was a founder and editor in chief of the first ever student TV show on Slovene Television. In 2000 Nina was approached by the Student Organisation of Slovenija (ŠOU) with an idea to create the first ever TV show aimed at the student population. Nina created a series of contents comprising of student current affairs and entertainment for this didactical TV platform, pitched the concept, formulated the budget and produced the pilot of the show to the director and the board of trustees of the National Radio Television Slovenia (RTVSLO), the main state broadcaster. The first weekly edition of the Student Street was broadcasted in 2002. The host of the show at the time was Rebeka Dremelj, the former Miss Slovenia, who was herself a student at that time. Nina approached Rebeka trough their mutual friend Marlena (Tomaz Mihelič ), the main vocal of the Slovene entry performed by Sestre at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Talinn, Estonia, where Nina was a commentator for Slovenia. Student street became an established weekly show on TV Slovenia for many years.
